IHMN participation game at Derby on 28th/29th September

The GCN/COGS will be staging an IHMN participation game at Derby on 28th/29th September.

It is in the brochure under the name Once Upon A Time/Storybook Game and is adjacent to Stafford Games. For those with treadhead friends, an FOW base game will be running in the same area.

This will not be the usual one side against the other bashfest, but will involve 3-6 participants each of whom will be given a number of goals worth between 1 and 3 victory points. These goals may involve keeping a certain character alive or ensuring his or her demise, they may even involve stealing coffins or committing arson. At the end of 5 turns the number of victory points is totted up and the winner declared.

There will be two factions involved, with each combatant having a data card. The cards are laid out each turn and Players select a team for that turn from those left (alive!).

Otherwise the game plays as normal IHMN rules, with each player moving one of their ‘team’ in turn through the usual phases according to Player Initiative.

The game plays very quickly (under an hour) and can take up to 6 players. If you like the idea of bluffing, backstabbing and generally achieving your own goals while stopping those of your opponents, you should enjoy this game.

In order to ensure a quick turnaround of moves, talents and mystic powers are limited.

Look for the Wicker Man!
