Ripper Street reprieved!

The series made just for IHMN fans shall return despite the BBC cancelling it.

The online film/TV distribution company Lovefilm are going to commission a third and probably fourth season of this excellent period drama.

10,000 fans signed a petition to demand it be continued including, I am sure, many IHMN players. Well done all of you!

    • But production firm Tiger Aspect is reported to be in talks with video on demand service LoveFilm about making a third series which would premiere online before being shown by the BBC.
A spokesman for the firm said: “The creative team have great vision and high ambition for future series of Ripper Street.
“It would of course be marvellous to find a route to make these plans reality.”
A BBC spokeswoman said: “The BBC is looking at partnerships that could enable Ripper Street to return but at better value to licence fee payers.”

  1. I thought I understood British usage of the English language rather well, but now I wonder. Please explain to this American dullard how “The online film/TV distribution company Lovefilm are going to commission a third and probably fourth season of this excellent period drama” equates to “…production firm Tiger Aspect is reported to be in talks with video on demand service LoveFilm about making a third series which would premiere online before being shown by the BBC.”
“…are going to…” = “reported to be in talks” ???
Gosh, what a terrible language barrier there is between stupid Yanks and erudite Brits!
