6th June 1944

A lot has been said about this already, and a lot more will. These men threw themselves into harm’s way that we might live free from fascism and dictatorship. Remember that.

The picture below I feel sums that up. This is Jim Martin, 93, who today, dressed as he was in 1944, shall parachute into Normandy once again.

  1. A day for mixed celebration and remembrance – it has been my pleasure to have known (and in a couple of cases still know) some of these gentlemen. Let us remember their sacrifice, and also why they had to make it.
